CYS – 12 and under Softball

Age and Skill Level: 

This league is for girls age 12 or under as of January 1st of the current year. It is 5 innings and all player pitch. Games are played on a regulation softball field, with 55’ bases and a 40’ pitching rubber.

The Season: 

The league will begin its season with mandatory practices in April.  The head coach of each team will determine the practice schedule in conjunction with the coordinators and other coaches.  Teams will play other local teams within a 45 mile radius. Regular season start dates will be determined by the league at a later date. 

Playoffs and Tournaments: 

There may be opportunities for tournament play during the season.  More information on this topic will be communicated throughout the season.   There will be an opportunity to participate in a playoff tournament through the Valley League of the Boys & Girls Club of Albany, Corvallis & Lebanon depending on the regular season record.
 

Skill Assessment/Player Assignment:  

All players are required to show up for the tryouts at the Talmadge Middle School gym.  This is just an evaluation process to keep all the teams evenly balanced. All individuals who desire to move up a division must show up for tryouts.  Details for team selection and drafting process are available in the softball procedural manual.

Player Fees: 

Registration fees are $70.($80 after April 3rd) In addition to the registration fee players will be required to participate in the annual fundraiser.

You may register in person at the CYS office on Wednesday evenings from 6pm to 8pm.
